KLCC Park: 11 Exciting Activities To Do With Kids
If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur with kids, then KLCC Park is a must-visit!
It’s a green oasis in the middle of the city and there are so many fun things to do with kids. Let’s get right to it 🙂
1. Play At KLCC Park Playground
Top of the list is play time at the KLCC Park playground!
You can let your kids run wild there. The playground is big and it’s fun for both young toddlers and older kids.
They even have a play area with low-level tunnels that’s suitable for crawling babies. I’ve also seen teenagers making their way through the obstacles.
My son could spend hours playing here!
2. Splash In The KLCC Park Wading Pool
KLCC Park is one of the few Kuala Lumpur parks with a wading pool.
I wouldn’t consider it a KLCC water park but it’s still a great way to cool off little ones in Malaysia’s hot weather.
And as a parent I’m sure you know how much kids LOVE water.
Seriously, my son can play in the pool all day if I let him.
There are also a couple of small waterfalls that will entertain them!
Remember to bring a change of clothes for them. There are changing rooms available just across the pool.
3. Walk And Stroll At KLCC Park
You know how sometimes kids just have the wiggles in their legs and they NEED to let it out?
There’s a jogging track at KLCC Park and it’s a great place to let your kids run!
For the most part it’s quite shaded by the big trees along the track.
If you go early in the morning or late afternoon you’ll see a lot of people jogging.
Of course you can also take a walk and just stroll along, especially if you’re trying to put your baby to sleep on-the-go.
I’ve taken walks at the KLCC park with my mom friends and all of us had our toddlers.
There were a lot of pit stops though because our kids were interested in collecting yellow leaves that were on the ground along the way.
We walked one big round the park and stopped at the playground and wading pool area as a reward for them.
It was so much fun and such a great kid-friendly activity for a weekend morning 🙂
4. Take Pictures Of The Iconic KLCC Twin Towers
The view of the KLCC Petronas Twin Towers from the park is stunning and iconic.
Since you’re at the park, get a family picture with the Twin Towers in the background.
Here’s a pro tip for you: The best place to take a family picture with the Twin Towers is by the arch bridge or under the bridge by the lake!
5. Catch The Extravagant Holiday Decorations at KLCC Park
Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures with mainly Malay, Chinese, and Indian populations.
Throughout the year there are always holiday decorations to celebrate events like Chinese New Year, Raya Aidilfitri (Eid), Deepavali, and Christmas among many others.
If you’re in town visiting during one of the festive seasons, check out the decoration right in front of the Suria KLCC Mall entrance.
Sometimes they’ll even have performances like during Chinese New Year celebrations, where they had a Lion Dance.
I’m sure your kids would love it, it’s a great way to expose them to different cultures!
6. Have A Picnic At KLCC Park
I love that there’s so much greenery at KLCC Park that’s great for family picnics!
You can bring a picnic mat to sit down and enjoy snacks while your kids run around.
They also have gazebos throughout the park which makes it a great picnic spot in KL.
This is especially helpful if it’s a sunny day and you’re looking for a comfortable shaded area with seating for your family.
7. Admire The Lake Symphony At KLCC Park
Personally I love the Lake Symphony at KLCC Park.
It’s relaxing to hear the sound of water shooting up and coming down.
Sometimes my son and I spend time together chilling by the lake to watch the dancing fountain.
Definitely check it out when you visit KLCC Park with your kids!
8. Catch The KLCC Musical Fountain Show
If you end up staying at KLCC Park until nighttime, catch the fountain show at night!
Spending time at KLCC for kids is worth it when they get excited to see the fountains come to life. It’s quite a magical performance that your kids will love.
There are two types of shows:
KLCC Symphony Light AND Sound Water Fountain showtimes are at 8 PM, 9 PM, and 10 PM daily.
KLCC Symphony Light ONLY Water Fountain showtimes are at 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM, and 9:30 PM daily.
9. Join Group Exercise Workouts At KLCC Park
If your kids are a bit older, you can take them to group exercise classes at KLCC Park!
It usually happens on Saturday mornings.
There is a free community Yoga session organized by Hippie Hub studio. You can follow their Instagram page here for updates on the sessions.
There is also a pound fitness session with a mix of cardio, drumming, and strength training. You can check it out here.
10. Visit Aquaria KLCC
If your kids love underwater animals then take them to Aquaria KLCC!
It’s in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center which is right across from KLCC Park.
Aquaria is not that big so you can easily cover it in under 2 hours. My son’s favorite part is the tunnel where he could see all the fish, turtles, and sharks swimming.
🎟 Book your Aquaria tickets here
11. Cool Off In Suria KLCC Mall
After your kids are done playing and exploring KLCC Park, they’ll probably be hungry and want to cool off from the hot weather.
You can head to Suria KLCC Mall to grab a meal and cool down indoors.
There are plenty of good food options!
Personally I like Ben’s, Serai, and Madam Kwan’s. All are good family-friendly options if you want to sit down and eat.
If you want something quick, Toast Maker has really good sandwiches! My son loves them.
Is It Free To Enter KLCC Park With Kids?
Yes! Entrance to KLCC Park is free. You’ll see lovely views of the Petronas Twin Towers along with Suria KLCC Mall and Kuala Lumpur Convention Center that are nearby.
This makes it a perfect park to bring your kids to!
KLCC Park Playground Opening Hours
The official KLCC Park opening hours are 10 AM – 10 PM but it’s a public park with easy access so you can go as early as 7 AM!
You won’t be turned away by security since people go there early in the morning to exercise and jog early in the morning.
When Is The Best Time To Go To KLCC Park With Kids?
I recommend going to KLCC Park with kids either early in the morning before 9 AM or later in the afternoon around 6 PM.
During that time the weather is usually cool enough to be spent outdoors!
Where To Eat At KLCC Park?
There are no cafes or restaurants at KLCC Park itself but you can head to Suria KLCC Mall which is just a short walk.
At Suria KLCC Mall there are plenty of food options. Here are some of my favorites for family-friendly restaurants:
If you are there early in the morning on weekends, there are only a couple of eateries that open as early as 8 AM.
You can try Kenny Hills Bistro at Four Seasons Hotel which is just across from KLCC Park or Dotty’s at Suria KLCC Mall.
Is KLCC Park Stroller Friendly?
Yes! For the most part KLCC Park is stroller friendly.
If you’re going to KLCC Park from Suria KLCC Mall, follow the path along the Lake Symphony underneath the Arch Bridge for the shortest way to the playground.
Are There Baby Changing Rooms At KLCC Park?
There is a baby changing station in the female public restroom near the playground area at KLCC Park.
Pro tip: The closest private baby changing and nursing room is actually at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. This is where I prefer to change my son since it’s clean, private, and close to the playground area.
Another option is the family rooms in Suria KLCC mall on Levels C and 2.

When visiting KLCC Outdoor Playground with kids, I recommend these items to stay comfortable:
- A change of loose and light clothing
- Hat
- Swimwear

- Sunscreen
- Portable fan
